Lincoln Clean Energy announced that its 184-MW Lockett Wind project has achieved commercial operation in Texas.
The Lockett Wind farm in Wilbarger has the potential to generate more than 700,000 MWh of renewable energy per year, enough to power the equivalent of 70,000 homes. Lincoln Clean Energy, which is a subsidiary of Ørsted, now has more than 1 GW of assets in operation across the U.S. and another 1.3 GW in construction or late-stage development.
“I am proud of the LCE team and our Ørsted colleagues in completing another safe, on-time and on-budget construction project, and to cross the milestone of a gigawatt operating portfolio,” CEO Declan Flanagan said.
Construction on the Lockett Wind project began last year. Ørsted announced it was acquiring Lincoln Clean Energy from Squared Capital in August 2018 and completed the transaction two months later.
Lincoln Clean Energy’s wind projects include the Plum Creek, Tahoka and Willow Springs farms.
