Most woman prefer to wear the straw hat! It’s a hat that is timeless and also has utility. Usually, this hat gets made of natural or synthetic straw material and comes with a brim to provide sun protection. Though both the genders can wear this hat, women have a special affinity for it.

People in Europe and Asia have worn straw hats since Middle Ages, both for style and to get secured from the sun. The straw hats for women are popular because it’s lightweight and has small openings. That means, it allows scope for openings when it’s a hot summer.

People have sported the boater hat during warm months. There used to be a designated day when people switched from the winter hats and wore boater hats. The day gets celebrated as “Straw Hat Day”. It’s a hat that most women would to carry with them when they are in a vacation. It’s breathable and easy to wear. Conventionally, the Panama hat gets made using Toquilla straw. And akin to various straw hats, if the weave is tight, it means more work has been done and it comes for an increased price.It is popular with women tourists and vacationers who want to flaunt a classic style and offer sun protection. However, the straw fedora is a favorite amongst urban women who want to sport this hat when heading for a gathering at a friend’s place or for some other event. Whenever most women visualize a straw hat, they inevitably think of the famous floppy beach hat. This type of hat comes with a broad brim and can secure the wearer from the harsh rays of the sun and can also complement a cove-up shrug and a bikini. At times, the floppy beach hats can have a brim that is 10 inches wide, which also secures the shoulder from the sun. And you can come across floppy sun hats at multiple price points. Hence, it is essential to focus on the UPF factor and the weave tightness if you want to stay secured from the sun. The hat is common with women who wants to head to the beach to get a sun tan. They can wear this hat and spend time on the beach for as long as they want. The hats don’t get cheaply made. However, it is essential to make the correct selection.

  1. The straw lifeguard hat

As the name suggests, this straw hat used to be worn by the lifeguards in the California coast. This hat comes with a manageable chin strap and a distinctive high crown. The hat type is made using a thick straw and has a loose weave. So, if you are seeking only sun protection, this is not the best to choose. However, if you want a blend of style and utility, this hat is a great choice for women. And even though it gets worn by lifeguards, fishermen and gardeners, it doesn’t mean that women can’t wear it to up their style.
