The 62nd session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD62) will focus on “Fostering social development and social justice through social policies to accelerate progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to achieve the overarching goal of poverty eradication”.
The CSocD62 will focus on the emerging issue of “The Influence of Digital Transformation on Inclusive Growth and Development: A Path to Achieving Social Justice.” The Commission will also commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family.
The Commission will take place from 5 to 14 February 2024, in Conference Room 4 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The CSocD62 will be broadcasted live.

The Commission has elected the following Bureau Members: H.E. Ms. Ruchira Kamboj, Permanent Representative of India as Chair of the 62nd Commission for Social Development, and Vice-Chairs: Ms. Carla María Carlson, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic; H.E. - H.E. NGOs that are accredited to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) may designate representatives to attend the annual sessions of the CSocD. NGO Committee on Social Development
The NGO Committee on Social Development is dedicated to raising awareness and holding discussions on social development issues taken up by the UN System and in particular by the UN Commission for Social Development. The committee holds a Civil Society Forum and other capacity-building and outreach events on the occasion of the Commission. Membership is open to representatives of organizations and any interested persons concerned about social development issues.
Civil Society Forum on the CSocD62 Priority Theme, 9 February 2024
The Forum is hosted jointly by UNDESA-DISD, the NGO Committee on Social Development and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Foundation.
