Three Examples Of Government Deregulation

Deregulation in the public and private sectors ensures competition and low prices for the customer. Plus, some items that have been deregulated are legalized, made available to those in need, and lose the stigma that once followed them. There are three examples of government deregulation listed below that you can use to understand how the open market can help people. As you read, you will find that deregulation in these three industries is good for the customer and the population as a whole.

Energy Services

Energy deregulation is the best way to offer lower prices to the customer. Deregulation allows companies to lower their prices, and the competition improves customer service. Plus, these companies often have flexibility that allows them to buy power back from customers, helps these companies invest in renewable energy, and lets these companies offer more services.

A diverse power company can offer low prices on electricity and gas. Plus, these companies can buy back solar or wind power from the customer. In some cases, the power company sells solar panels or wind turbines to its customers. Additionally, companies may offer financial services, security services, and even a wireless service. Bundled service packages are cheaper for the customer, and customers have an easy time getting support.

Cannabis/Marijuana/CBD

Cannabis 2.0 legislation in Canada will impact the Alberta area because CBD and marijuana will both be legalized. These products will be sold by licensed merchants, and these products can be used in place of traditional medications. This legislation will legalize these products, and the people who have been convicted of crimes involving these drugs may have their convictions overturned. At the very least, the stigma around marijuana can be removed by the government.

There is no need for people to go on the street and pay high prices to a dealer they do not know. People who buy these products will not need to worry about who has mixed their drugs, and buyers do not need to hide their products. These products can be used openly, and the buyers can tell their doctors they have tried cannabis to medicate themselves.

Healthcare professionals will not be afraid to recommend an illegal drug to their patients, and a doctor’s office could partner with CBD and cannabis companies to offer better products. Cannabis cafes will sell products to the public, and customers can use cannabis products openly.

Alcohol/Alcoholic Beverages

Alcohol and alcoholic beverage deregulation have paved the way for alcohol sales, wineries, distilleries, and breweries. Restaurants can sell alcohol if they have a license, and a corner store can sell alcohol with a license. There is no need for people to buy overpriced alcohol from a government-run store. Plus, deregulation increases the variety in the industry. Companies can import alcohol without worry, and international alcohols provide variety to the public.

If someone owns a vineyard, they can sell wine openly. These wineries can sell their wine at any time, and they can open a winery shop that allows adults to taste wine, take a wine tour, and purchase blended wines.

Breweries are a good way for the public to try new beers, and these breweries often open restaurants that pair beer with food. This is a fun way for people to try a beer, and prices remain competitive because anyone can open a brewery if they have a license. The public is not stuck with the few breweries that have mass production facilities.

Additionally, distilleries can make spirits like vodka and rum. These companies can open stores in conjunction with their facilities, or they can make small batches that they sell to local shops. There is more variety for the public to choose from, and the prices remain low because there are so many new sellers on the market.

Conclusion

Government deregulation has helped remove the stigma from marijuana, and it has helped keep energy prices low. Energy companies that have been deregulated can offer more services to their customers, and wineries can grow grapes, make wine, and sell their products directly to the customer. Each of these examples offers more medicinal options to the customer, helps the customer have a good time, and provides families with a bit of comfort and security.
