The 2019 POWERGEN International call for abstracts is ready and waiting for you, Dear Power Generation Industry Expert.
The nation’s biggest power generation conference is seeking the best and brightest to deliver content sessions when POWERGEN happens November 19-21 in New Orleans. The call for abstracts link can be found at power-gen.com and continues through February 19.
“We don’t shy away from being an “all of the above” energy conference, focused not on one specialty but open to all the ways electricity is generated globally, from clean energy to clean coal to cooling towers to microgrids,” said Rod Walton, content manager for POWERGEN. “And yes we mean globally, as we want to hear about the best innovations and projects done around the world.”
Among the topics being sought for sessions include gas-fired turbine and plant technologies, optimizing plant performance, onsite power, renewables, energy storage, microgrids, project financing, regulation, digitization and the future of coal-fired generation.
Those selected to present will have a strong audience to hear them. Last year’s POWERGEN in Orlando drew more than 15,000 attendees from around the world, as well as 900-plus exhibitors. The content sessions feature a combination of utility and power industry vendors presenting case studies, panels and thought leadership on the pressing issues of the day and looking ahead to the future innovations.
Abstracts that include and guarantee utility participation are going to get higher consideration than those that do not. All of the abstracts are reviewed by POWERGEN’s advisory committee, which includes dozens of long-time utility and industry veterans covering all facets.
POWERGEN’s content includes the Summits, which are often panels involving high-level leadership and project developers. And, on the exhibit floor, are the shorter and more narrowly focused Knowledge Hubs, which were extremely popular when they were introduced at the previous POWERGEN in Orlando last month.
The call for abstracts also includes those who want to teach a pre-conference workshop on the Monday before POWERGEN begins. POWERGEN University offers attendees a four-hour or eight-hour session which dives much deeper into technologies and also offers a way to enhance professional credentials.
