The Bicentennial I and II Park are located about 15 km from the town of Jaramillo, northern provincial area.

The park has:

  • 28 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.6 MW, through the RenovAr National Program
  • 7 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.6-MW, through the MATER national program

The project involved a total investment of US$160 million and for the construction phase generated 190 jobs.

PCR is an oil and gas company that operates in Argentina since 1921. It is the main cement producer in Patagonia. The Energy Institute works with companies that choose to invest in Santa Cruz, a province rich in renewable and non-renewable energy sources.

In other wind energy news in the country, in September 2018 we reported that Nordex was providing the turbines for the 99-MW Lagao dos Ventos project, being developed by Enel Green Power.
